October

Halloween! I believe it's in Briggs' blood to be excited about this entire month. He longs to put up decorations, dress up, bake halloween cookies, go to pumpkin patches, decorate, and decorate some more. At this stage we have the following costume ideas being passed around -
Myles - Failed Report Card or a Barrel of Toxic Waste
Briggs - Ms. Frizzle or a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula
Noah - Ms. Frizzle, Jack Skellington, or my choice of a "Look at me" guy - they're the inflatables that roll up and down and all over with the air pushing it around.

We've been managing well with the water damage repair, but it's taking some time for sure. We've been on sheetrock for about a week, and are still processing through that one. Next I believe will be carpet stretching (and a repair in the middle room), plumbing and flooring. What a job it's been.

The kids are enjoying life it seems and there is more joy in the home since I've been working more on being more aware of myself and my needs. There is a large umbrella of needs that a mother may feel are done for her; but really I believe there's also a narrow path that I haven't walked down in quite some time (and felt good about it) that fills the needs of a mother in a very unique, personal way.

Bedtimes are difficult with Briggs and Noah in the same room - mostly because they are both so tired that they turn into jumping crazy boys trying not to sit still and fall asleep. We're trying different tactics, but it is a challenge. Briggs is starting OT tomorrow to work on fine motor skills. He really wants to write but is struggling with grip. We also see a follow up with his rheumatologist this week - more discussion of PFAPA and his attendance at school etc.

Myles is working with his class on their opera which will be about insects teleporting through portals. They're still working on a title and voting on characters and plot points but he seems really excited to be a part of the process. Myles is our do-gooder on Sunday and often reminds Rob and I of appropriate things to do on Sunday. He is stalwart and valiant.

Have a good week.
