About Myles

• Magic School Bus! Magic School Bus. Magic School Bus. 
• All the books we can get from the library are on hand.
• DVD's we get from the library on hand, and nearly memorized.
• Replaying in his head often (in fact we've had conversations end because he will come out of the in-head action, to ask a question about the episode or book.) 
• One of us is always Ms. Frizzle
• Liz is a favorite character
• Play2Learn
• Mom and Myles are doing a Play2Learn group and are enjoying it greatly. It has changed our relationship much for the better and leaves us much happier in our home. Although there is little away from home time, since we're building our relationship and defining play again in our home. (More on that in another post - - maybe.)
• To get his attention and engagement to play, there is generally a need to be touching, tickling, or physical contact. Rough housing is common play in our home now. 
• Two new games we play often are the push game - where he pushes me, I fall over, and then I push him and he falls over; and another where we play, 'you can't go' as I hold him back from leaving my arms. He'll try to leave and I'll grab him again. This entertainment is one of our favorites. 
• Planets
• I don't know that this will ever grow old. M still re-tells Exploding Universe to us often, and recites facts about the planets often. 
• He has slowly been convincing us to remove the hanging planets from his ceiling so he can play with them. He currently has Jupiter, Pluto, and Earth removed from the display. (Pluto wasn't really one of the given planets, but it's a dwarf planet, and they matter to him.)
• Fruit! Fruit, and more fruit. I think he'd eat fruit all day if it would fill him up entirely. 
• Myles gets excited when he hears the terms, "America," "Salt Lake City," or "Utah." He loves identifying where we live and that we are Americans
• He seems to be grasping more with letters and word forming. The other day I said the word yesterday, and he told me, "that sounds like yes." So we talked about how the word was spelled and they were similar words. 
• He loves to count! Counting is constant, and the ABC's are a breeze right now. He sings them often by himself and all the time. 
• He thinks the song, There's a Hole in my Bucket" is very entertaining, but sincerely loves, Little Bunny FooFoo.
• Weighs in at nearly 38 pounds. 
• Still doesn't like to get his hair cut. 
• Loves talking to visitors to our home, or introducing us to people. For example, yesterday at the store I was checking out and Myles told the cashier, "This is Ms. Frizzle." Then, when the plumber was here, M did his introductions and told us as he closed the door to the bathroom, "I need some time with him." He reassured the plumber often during his conversation that the plumber had some great tools, and that he was doing a great job. (ps - the door remained open despite M's efforts to close.) 
• When Rob visited M's primary class at church to tell a few stories about Myles, the teacher asked Myles who was in the classroom. Myles pointed to his dad and shouted, "Rob!" 
• Enjoys throwing sticks over bridges and exploring every area for 'train stations.' 
• Asked Myles if he wanted banana cake or banana bread, and he specifically said he wanted "chocolate sheet cake with icing" which I hadn't made before, but was delicious. 

About Briggs

• First pair of shoes today. (Robeez, 6-12 months size)
• If food is on the table (yes, he's sitting at the table now), he slams the table to reach the food and stuff it into his mouth.
• Loves Cheerios.
• Can't get enough entertainment from his brother. If there is any attention given, he loves it!
• Doesn't like much on the baby food end any more, and has branched to a greater food variety than M.
• The treasure he hunts all the time, anywhere, anytime is PAPER! Any type or style. At church last week he crawled over to a woman, stood at her knee and ate her file folder. Yes, he ate it. He's got plenty of paper fiber in his little system. 
• Loves opening/closing his hands. Clapping is a favorite task, but he can be found watching his hand intently as it opens and closes.
• Is in a new car seat - no longer the small one. 
• Weighs in at nearly 20 pounds.
• Fits in 9-12 month clothing, although fits in some which is much bigger in size as well.
• Crawls the stairs as a pro, and loves it when we chase behind him (that's really the only time he falls, is when we "get him.")
• Beginning to grasp the concept of standing all by himself. He'll hold on to something, let go, and catch himself before falling. 

Overall, they are both growing so very fast. We love and adore these lovely boys and truly count our blessings daily.
