Fevers, Independence and Mixed Emotions

This month marks our 9th consistent month of 2-4 days/month of a feverish Briggs. It is so sad to not know what's ailing him and how to help. We've been documenting all things with the Doctor, and are hoping to have a referral for a specialist or a deeper overview of his body soon. Prayers are appreciated. Our dear Briggs is so sweet and random - and we miss his happy face when the fevers arrive. This week he consistently mentioned - "Mom, you and Aunt Heather are sisters. You and Aunt Heather were kid sisters. You and Aunt Heather are sisters."
Myles and I went on a date this last weekend (Thanks Aunt Connie, Uncle Denny and Aunt Lori for the cards to help this effort) - and it was strange to sit back and watch him sit in his own boat, steer, spray and cruise around the bumper boat ride without me by his side. It was not an easy moment for me, although his joy was a wonder to see. I can understand how independence and confidence can create moments of joy and moments of mixed emotion.
