Movie and a Dinner

Let's all go to the movies ...

That's the directive we took this past Saturday. It's rare these days that there are movies we want to see. Let's say, on average, there are about 10-13 movies per movie theater. Out of those double-digit figures we usually find ourselves wanting to see one at the most. Given that ratio, that one movie had better be good and worth spending whatever obscene average price movies cost - rather than waiting for it to be cheaper on video or free at the library.
We had high hopes for the one movie we wanted to see this week "Dan in Real Life", starring Steve Carell of "The Office" fame and Dane Cook, of quirky baseball playoff promo fame.

"The Red Sox. The Rockies. Boston. Denver. The Eastern Standard Time Zone. The Mountain Daylight Time Zone. Whose fans will still be awake in the 9th inning? Whose kids will fall asleep in school the next day? It all comes down to this!"

We took a nice walk downtown to the movie theater. There was quite a rush between a wedding show and what we think was a second show of "Hannah Montana" at the building formerly known as the Delta Center.
Now the pressure is really on this movie. Not only are we going to pay however much it costs to see the movie, but we walked the whole way to see it.
We saw an encouraging sign on the way (pictured). The R2D2 mailbox along 300 West was a reassurance that the Force indeed was with us.
We were not disappointed. We came away raving about the movie and recommending it to anyone. "You've got to see this movie!" And the same goes for you, loyal Trishman Trib readers. Go see it!
I won't reveal too many details as to not spoil it - it is of the romantic comedy breed - but I will say that I cried twice. Yes, Steve Carell - he who has made me laugh so many times from The Daily Show, to Anchorman and The Office - made me cry. Give the man an Oscar right now.

It's a date film, it's a family film, it's a superb film.
We then defied convention and went to dinner subsequent to seeing the matinee movie. Our destination was the Red Iguana, a Mexican restaurant near our home. It was muy delicioso! I went a bit crazy eating jalapenos but the digestive system is still intact.
The best part of it was we had this small partitioned-off area all to ourselves. We enjoyed the pseudo-privacy and had a lovely dinner.
And that was it, it was a good "date day." We enjoyed ourselves and spent quality time together. We recommend the same for everyone, especially the movie. Take care until our next posting!
